Theme: Innovative energy solutions

Introduction and possible research topics
The challenge of new energy solutions encompasses a range of issues that include not only technical and environmental aspects but also economic and social aspects. This theme could for example be developed to focus on:

• Clean and renewable energy innovation such as solar energy, wind power, bioenergy, geothermal, and hydropower 

• Nuclear energy innovations including sustainability of current reactors, deployment of future reactor designs, nuclear fuel cycle, and fusion energy

• Advanced technologies energy solutions, such as rechargeable batteries, hydrogen, and semiconductors to revolutionize energy storage and address global energy challenges – safety, sustainability, and performance scalability
